How is proxy traffic measured?

Proxy traffic is the data that passes through a proxy, counted in gigabytes. Both what you send and what you download count toward it.

A gigabyte plan counts every byte in both directions: the pages, and also their images, scripts, fonts and video. A typical web page weighs two or three megabytes when everything loads, so one gigabyte is a few hundred full pages in a browser, or tens of thousands of small API answers.

To make a plan last, block images and media, ask for compressed responses and avoid fetching the same thing twice. Where the volume is large and the target accepts datacenter addresses, a plan sold by time with no traffic limit costs less.

Questions about proxy traffic

Does traffic from failed requests count?

Data that passed through the proxy counts, whatever the website answered. A blocked page is small, but a retry loop against a failing target can still add up.

How do I see how much traffic I have used?

Each plan page on BooProxies shows the traffic used and what is left. You can top up a gigabyte plan at any time and keep the same login.

Unlimited proxy
An unlimited proxy plan does not count traffic. You pay for a length of time and a speed, and use as much data as that speed carries.
Headless browser
A headless browser is a real browser that runs without a window and is driven by a program, used to load pages that need JavaScript.
Concurrent connections
Concurrent connections are the requests a program has open through a proxy at the same moment. More of them finish a job sooner.
