Why does DeathByCaptcha need a proxy?

Many sites tie a captcha token to the IP address that asked for it. If the service solves from its own address and you submit from yours, the token can be refused. Passing your proxy to the service makes both come from one address.

Proxy settings for DeathByCaptcha: host, port and login

A BooProxies plan gives you four things: a host, a port, a username and a password. These are the values for Residential; the username and password are on your plan page.

As one address:

http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@resi.proxies.boo:8080

The country and the session are chosen in the username, not in a separate setting. The generator on your plan page writes the username for you, and Targeting and sessions explains each part.

DeathByCaptcha proxy setup, step by step

1. For token captchas, the parameters are sent as a small JSON object.
2. Add proxy with the full address, http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@resi.proxies.boo:8080, and proxytype set to HTTP.
3. Submit the token from your own client through the same proxy.

Rotating or sticky sessions for DeathByCaptcha?

Use a sticky session, and give DeathByCaptcha exactly the same username you use for your own requests. The session ID in the username is what keeps both on one IP address. With a rotating username the token is solved from one address and submitted from another, and sites that check this reject it.

DeathByCaptcha proxy not working?

• The proxy is written as one address with the username and password in it, not as separate fields.
• A 407 error means the username or password was not accepted. Copy both again from your plan page, and check that nothing added a space or cut the username short.
• If the IP address is in the wrong country, look at the username: the country code is part of it. More fixes.
