Captcha solvers

Using your own proxies with CapSolver

CapSolver is an automated captcha solving service with a JSON API. Tasks that need your IP address take the proxy as a single string.

Why does CapSolver need a proxy?

Many sites tie a captcha token to the IP address that asked for it. If the service solves from its own address and you submit from yours, the token can be refused. Passing your proxy to the service makes both come from one address.

Which proxy works best with CapSolver?

A residential proxy with a sticky session. Give CapSolver the same username you use for your own requests.

Proxy settings for CapSolver: host, port and login

A BooProxies plan gives you four things: a host, a port, a username and a password. These are the values for Residential; the username and password are on your plan page.

Hostresi.proxies.boo
HTTP port8080
SOCKS5 port1080
UsernameUSERNAME
Passwordfrom your plan page

The country and the session are chosen in the username, not in a separate setting. The generator on your plan page writes the username for you, and Targeting and sessions explains each part.

CapSolver proxy setup, step by step

  1. Choose the task type that is not marked ProxyLess.
  2. Add one proxy field holding the type, host, port, username and password, separated by colons.
  3. Send the request that uses the token through the same proxy.

CapSolver proxy example

The proxy part of a task

curl -s https://api.capsolver.com/createTask -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{
  "clientKey": "YOUR_API_KEY",
  "task": {
    "type": "ReCaptchaV2Task",
    "websiteURL": "https://example.com/login",
    "websiteKey": "SITE_KEY",
    "proxy": "http:resi.proxies.boo:8080:USERNAME-country-us-time-600-session-a1b2c3d4:PASSWORD"
  }
}'

Replace USERNAME and PASSWORD with the login from your plan page. The example asks an IP-check address, so the output is the address your request left from.

Rotating or sticky sessions for CapSolver?

Use a sticky session, and give CapSolver exactly the same username you use for your own requests. The session ID in the username is what keeps both on one IP address. With a rotating username the token is solved from one address and submitted from another, and sites that check this reject it.

A sticky username looks like this:

USERNAME-country-us-time-600-session-a1b2c3d4

CapSolver proxy not working?

  • The string starts with the type. For SOCKS5 write socks5:resi.proxies.boo:1080: followed by the username and password.
  • The parts are separated by colons, so check the string has exactly five of them: type, host, port, username, password.
  • A 407 error means the username or password was not accepted. Copy both again from your plan page, and check that nothing added a space or cut the username short.
  • If the IP address is in the wrong country, look at the username: the country code is part of it. More fixes.
